Giraffe weevil, strange animals which again comes from Madagascar. These animals gained its name from the "neck" long which briefly looked like a giraffe.
For male beetles, neck serves to fight and compete for females. As for the female beetles, long neck would be used to build a nest for their eggs.
With the neck along the 2.5 centimeter, expressed as a giraffe weevil beetle with the longest neck in the world. This animal was first discovered in 2008.
Although this species is not listed as threatened or endangered, little is known about this species because it had just discovered in 2008. However, the normal population and impressive, they are not preceded by other species. Suspected that eggs are sometimes eaten by small insects, making stud for protective roam after mating, but this is not proven.
