Sumatran tiger or in a language known by the scientific name is Panthera Tigris sumatrae smallest tiger subspecies in the world with a length grows only up to 2.5 meters. Sumatran tiger small size makes it able to move with ease in the dense forests of Sumatra. Sumatran tiger is now an endangered tiger species with only about 500 individuals suspected of being in the wild.

Sumatran tigers are native animals that are only found on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. Sumatran tigers can be found in various habitats from lowlands to highlands, forests in the mountains until the peat swamp forests.

Sumatran tiger looks very different from the other tiger species like the Sumatran tiger stripes are narrower than other tiger species and they also have a larger manes. Sumatran tigers also have little webbed feet that allow them to swim more efficiently in pursuit of prey.

Sumatran tigers are the dominant predator meat eaters (carnivores). They hunt prey by stalking silently until tiger has a chance to catch their prey when guard. Sumatran tiger hunting large mammals such as deer, wild pigs, cattle and goats.

With the size and strength of the Sumatran tiger are highly effective in hunting prey, they have no natural predators in their original environment. Humans who hunt and eliminate the habitat of the Sumatran tiger is the only threat to the existence of the Sumatran tiger.
